Sylvia: Welcome Myra Armstead, author of Divine Purpose. Please give our readers an introduction of yourself and a little about your book.

Myra: Once again my name is Myra Armstead. I am from Alabama. I am married with two adult daughters. I consider myself to be a person of service and one of public interest (humanity). I enjoy giving back and assisting where needed. My purpose and calling is service (uplifting, inspiring, motivating and encouraging others).

Sylvia: What inspired you to write your first book?

Myra: Inspired me to write my book: My life experiences, encounters and relationship with God lead me to write Divine Purpose. I’ve always known that I was different. I knew early on that I had a calling on my life. I wasn’t sure what it was… it took me years to discover my purpose

Sylvia: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp

Myra: The concept that things doesn’t just happen… God allows us to encounter certain things for a reason all according to his Divine Purpose for our life.

Sylvia: What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Myra: I was required to be transparent in order to be effective. I consider myself to be a very private person. I struggled with being transparent.

Sylvia: How did you come up with the idea for this book?

Myra: I was spiritually lead to write this book. God is using me as a vessel via this book to show people there is no particular person/we all have been grant Grace equally.

Sylvia: How do you combat writer’s block?

Myra: I normally break away for a period of time to allow my mind and spirit to rest and meditate (spiritual download period).

Sylvia: Do you have any advice for other writers?

Myra: Remain focus on your passion, listen to your inner self. The vision is yours to manifest not anyone else. Therefore, it’s not for them to understand.

Sylvia: What marketing techniques have you used to sell your books and which ones have been most successful?

Myra: I have used Social Media to the fullest extent possible. I have used platforms such as this (interviews, blog features, marketing companies) etc. I have had countless speaking and appearance engagements, which has helped as well.

Sylvia: Why should we buy your book?

Myra: My book is meant to impact lives. It is meant to challenge ones way of viewing their failures and adversities. Divine Purpose is also a book that direct you God and him alone. My book is also a short read, it not a book that will take you days, weeks or longer to read. My instruction was specific when drafting the book.

Sylvia: Is there a special place that you prefer when you write?

Myra: I prefer to write in any place in my home so long as it quiet and without distraction. ONLY in my home.

Sylvia: What projects are you currently working on?

Myra: Professionally looking forward to doing MUCH more in the legal arena. I am currently working on several different projects:

  • Sisters Let’s Talk (Co-found with another local business owner).
  • Revamping measures for my personal organization, “The Trunk Ministry” (donate used clothes/shoes to women).
  • Individual projects regarding women/community public service.
  • Develop my YouTube channel (Public Platform).
  • I am also working on projects within the black authors community.

Sylvia: Great projects, very rewarding! What is your POWER WORD? Why this word?

Myra: Purpose is my word of power because we ALL have PURPOSE. Meaning God created us in his image for his Divine Purpose. We are responsible for figuring out what our purpose is and manifesting it. We are not meant to just exist We are meant to live and walk out our purpose for God.

Sylvia: Thank you for your time. I really enjoyed it.

Myra: Sylvia, I appreciate the opportunity.
