An Interview with Leanora Moore: Author 

 

Sylvia: Welcome Leanora. Welcome to my blog. I am excited to meet you and share your story with my readers. Please give our readers an introduction of yourself and a little about your book.

Leanora:  Thank you for allowing me the opportunity. My nam is Leanora Moore  As a little girl, I always had a notebook, where I could write about my dreams and fantasies. Growing into adulthood, I would read other authors work and say to myself that I could do the same thing. At the age of 31 I decided to write my first novel titled “The Caress Of A Younger Man”. Since then I have written another romance novel titled “Heavenly Kingdom” which was released in 2012. Due to be released in early 2013 is “Smooth As Silk”, which I plan to introduce more plus size heroines into romance novels.

Throughout the whole process I have learned that to write a great novel you have to be willing to learn and apply the information. I want to thank all the authors that offered me advice and knowledge. My website is Leanoramoore.net.

 

Sylvia: I commend you for following your dream to become a writer. So many times we put our dreams on the back burner… and regret it years later. What inspired you to write your first book?

Leanora: I was inspired to start writing at a young age, where I always had a notebook or journal with me to write down my ideas. Then as I became an adult I started reading African American romance novels and decided to write my first novel at the age of 31.

 

Sylvia: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Leanora: “Smooth As Silk” introduces a new kind of heroine, which is why the series is called Voluptuously Curvy And Loving It Series. This series is about feisty plus size women that desire love just like thin women.

 

Sylvia: Do you have any advice for other writers?

Leanora: Never give up on your dreams of becoming a published author and if you really want to see your work published after receiving a lot of rejections, simply self-publish.  Also if you need some guidance, I invite you to my website to read some of my blog entries. There you will find information on how to write your first novel.

 

Sylvia: In other words, always have a Plan B. These days, self-publishing is the norm. What marketing techniques have you used to sell your books and which ones have been most successful?

Leanora: The first thing I do to promote my novels are to hold a series of book signings. My first few book signings were at local bookstores, nightclubs and the local YWCA.

 

Sylvia: Why should we buy your book?

Leanora: You should buy my novel because you get to experience the emotional roller coaster along with the characters;  experience the enjoyment and excitement as the characters evolve; see how true love can heal old wounds and last but not least is to experience that happy ending we all dream of.

 

Sylvia: Is there a special place that you prefer when you write?

Leanora: I like to close myself off in my bedroom and cut on some soft music and just let the word flow.

 

Sylvia: What projects are you currently working on?

Leanora: Right now, I am working on my fourth romance novel called “Finding Love Within”.

 

Sylvia: Congratulations on your fourth romance novel. You are on a roll!  What is your POWER WORD? Why this word? 

Leanora: Mind-blowing, because I want to blow my readers mind when they read my novels. I want to keep their attention and I want them to pass my book along to others because it was so good.
