An Interview with Christine Sherborne: Author & Business Woman

Sylvia: Welcome Ms. Christine Sherborne. Please give our readers an introduction of yourself and a little about your book.

Christine: For many years, I was a business woman. I was awarded ‘Business Woman of the Year’ in Auckland, New Zealand, for the rapid growth of my packaging company.

Born in England, I now live in Australia and work full-time as a writer. For twelve years I’ve written Inspirational self-help books and audios, then last year I wrote my first two supernatural thrillers, the ‘Imogene’ series.

Imogene’s Message – A thriller of Extreme Prejudice is the first in the series. It’s set in Avebury, an ancient stone circle, not far from the well-known Stonehenge. Two families the Pembroke’s, natural healers, battle the Yates family, who belong to the Phineas Priesthood, a religious cult.

They try to murder Imogene, daughter of Xantara an Avebury Circle priestess. The battle for the future of the world lies on this eight-year-old shoulder. Will she succeed?

Sylvia: Very interesting. What inspired you to write your first book?

Christine: When my ten-year-old son died in a road accident, Extreme Christian Fundamentalists told me that he burned in hell. His crime, he was a Catholic and according to these people, ‘Catholic’s are not real Christians’. I began to think about prejudice, and how prevalent all kinds prejudice is in today’s world. Not just religious, but color, race, sexual preferences etc.

The characters show two sides of the coin, and how being judgemental can cause people to do the unthinkable.

Sylvia: My goodness! I am very sorry for your loss and very saddened by the lack of compassion from people.

Though I shouldn’t be surprised as that is the norm in our society.  Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Christine: My book, ‘Imogene’s Message’, calls for a change in hardened attitudes. The ultimate answer to the World’s problems is Love! Let go of anger, judgment, un-forgiveness, and practice love every day.

Sylvia: Do you have any advice for other writers?

Christine: Write from you heart. Write your truth, not what you think people want or should hear. Be authentic and people will sense passion in your work.

Sylvia: That is great advice. What marketing techniques have you used to sell your books and which ones have been most successful?

Christine: I’ve used all forms of social media and favor Twitter. I have a mailing list and send out a monthly newsletter. My website has articles of interest, for my readers. There isn’t one method of marketing; a writer needs to use most of them to become known.

Sylvia: I agree, it takes a multitude of marketing strategies to stay at the forefront and on the minds of your potential customers. Why should we buy your book?

Christine: A fast-paced action-packed thriller includes interesting information on groups such as the Bilderberg Group that my readers do enjoy. Well-known Editor, Don McNair, edited the book and said it was only one of two books that he’d given a personal recommendation for in fifty years of his career as an editor.

My guarantee, enjoy the book and leave a positive review, email me and I will gift the second book to you. Hate it and I’ll give you your money-back!

Sylvia: Is there a special place that you prefer when you write?

Christine: I write in my office at home. It’s peaceful and quiet and set up exactly as I like it.

Sylvia: What projects are you currently working on?

Christine: I’ve started book three in the Imogene series but having a change of pace for a couple of months, and writing a book about Unseen Helpers, from Invisible Realms. This is an inspirational book that explains how you can receive help from these otherworldly beings.

Sylvia: What is your POWER WORD? Why this word?

Christine: FREEDOM – I’ve always wanted, needed and appreciated freedom. Freedom to be myself; go where I want; and most importantly, think my own thoughts, and dream my own dreams.

Sylvia: Thank you Christine! Please share your social media and book contact information.
