Finding Content for your opt-in doesn’t have to be difficult.  Don’t strain yourself because you probably already have the information and don’t realize it.

Ask them

You can use something like poll daddy or survey monkey and send a survey to your prospects as well as past clients to find out what challenges they had before they hired you.  Rather than sending a survey, it’s even better if you can get them on the phone and ask this question.  A conversation is going to lead to more questions and insight that you just can’t get with a survey.  Just by listening, you will probably have enough material for a few opt-ins.

Look at what you already have

This is what I did when I was a planner.  I had been on a radio show and contacted the host, was able to get the recording in an mp3 format and used that for my opt-in.  You can do the same.  If you’ve been on the radio or a television show, ask for a recording.  If you have given a speech or a class, you can use that information as well!  Even if you have written a book, you can use a chapter in the book or a few pages in the book.

Social media

This is how I get a lot of my blog posts ideas.  Twitter is a great source for this because everything is in one place.  Use the hashtags.  Forums are also another way to find out what your audience is talking about, what they are interested in, and what challenges they have.

What content ideas do you have for your opt-in?  Would love to hear your ideas in the comments below!
