Stress = doing the math and excluding God from the equation.

I have no idea who wrote this, but it is an awesome quote.

God wants us to come to Him first with everything that happens in our lives, whether good or bad. He wants to be the first one we tell instead of trying to find another solution before finally coming to Him to pour out our problems.

Imagine you are a wonderful father who loves your children and always wants the very best for them; but instead of coming to you first with all their problems they go to all their friends who give them terrible advice. They keep talking to different people who give them advice that you can see is leading them in the wrong direction.

Imagine being able to see all this and being able to do very little about it because they refuse to come to you first for the right answer.

I think that is how God feels about us many times because we reach out to Him LAST when we should have come to Him FIRST. Then he has to fix a multitude of problems before he can finally get around to fixing the initial problem we had in the first place.

Many of us spend much of our lives totally stressed because we try to get answers from everywhere but the ONE who has all the right answers from the start.

I will warn you that no amount of begging or coercing will make God give you the answer before He has deemed it exactly the right time. I think that has a lot to do with you learning to trust Him completely to know what is best for every aspect of your life.

In my experience I have found that God has always worked things out much better than my VERY BEST plan has ever been. I can only see things from a limited view, but God can see the whole picture and how I fit into it. Sometimes he wants to use me for something much larger than I could have ever imagined.

When you leave God out of your everyday life and problems, your stress point will rise dramatically. Why would you ever want to trust mere humans with your problems when the God who created the Universe is more than willing to handle them for you, and might I add, in a much better way than you could ever hope to handle them yourself?

Isn’t it awesome that God made the world, solar system, animals, plants, and everything else that exists, but He also wants to have a personal relationship with you and take the time to solve your problems?

Next time you have a problem, make a firm decision to give it to God, get out of the way, and let Him handle it in the way He chooses. You really will have much less stress in your life on a daily basis. After all, He already knows the problem and how He will solve it before you have even asked!
