Sylvia: Hi Oriel. I am thrilled to talk to you. Congratulations on being selected as NAWR’s “10 Most Intriguing Women on the Rise. Tell me about yourself and your business?

Sylvia: Success is…
Oriel: Success is taking authority to define success on your own. It’s going to look differently for all of us. Personalize your business, your goals, and your results.
Sylvia: How do you give back to your community?
Oriel: I am involved with the following organizations:
- Central Florida Urban League Young Professionals Financial Empowerment Chair – Organize and share financial events for our members and the community – http://cful.org/cfulyp-about.html
- YMCA – Tangelo Park – Board of Directors
- Other contributions – http://www.orossenterprises.com/humanity_charity.html
Sylvia: How do you create work/life balance?
Oriel: Schedule it. Free time is part of my business plan. If it’s not scheduled, it won’t happen so I make sure to set aside time for people in my life and activities I like to do.
Sylvia: What tips can you share with women business owners?
Oriel: Recognize the lessons learned along the way. Sometimes you have to forge ahead and sometimes you have to restructure. We’ll all be told “No”; so, experience challenging circumstances, and at times have to redirect our efforts. Be tenacious, results driven, and give yourself license to change your mind when needed.
