Reading is Power! An important way to gain knowledge and grow personally and professionally is through reading. The National Association Women on the Rise (NAWR)want to promote the work of women authors. If you have published one or more books, we want to profile your work.
Heres how:
As a featured author, you will have the opportunity to market your book to our various communities. A link to order copies of your book will be included with your interview. Your book will also be featured in our Ning community under the group, ‘Women Authors, ‘ that is, if you join our growing 450 member community! Join TODAY, its FREE! In addition, we will profile you in our social communities, such as:

What can you do to help us market YOUR book?
- Invite people you know to join our Facebook/Linkedin/Ning groups to help create buzz about your book.
- Do you tweet? Tweet about your book as a featured author of NAWR Community & Blog for Women.
- You will also receive a special badge as a featured guest of ‘Women Authors’ that you can display on your blog and within your various social media platforms. This badge can be hyper-linked to your featured article. Please make sure you grab the badge.
How to Add a Hyperlink to JPEG Files. These simple instructions will allow you to link this image to your interview:
- Open the HTML document in a text editor such as Notepad.
- Locate the JPEG image that you want to add the link to.
- Type the code “<ahref=”http://www.link_address.com”><img src=”image.jpg” /> </a>” to add a link to the JPEG image. Replace “http://www.link_address.com” with the address for the Web page you want to link to. Replace “image.jpg” with the correct name of the image.
- Save and close the file.
Here’s what we need:
- A brief bio introducing yourself and book (in first person).
- Your picture and one of your book cover saved in JPEG.
Answer the following questions in 1st person:
- What inspired you to write your first book?
- Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
- Do you have any advice for other writers?
- What marketing techniques have you used to sell your books and which ones have been most successful?
- Why should we buy your book?
- Is there a special place that you prefer when you write?
- What projects are you currently working on?
- What is your POWER WORD? Why this word? (A power word is a word that has great effect to the person hearing or reading it. My power word is EMPOWER)
- Please feel free to add any additional question that a reader might ask you, and answer that question. This is a great way to personalize your interview. (1st person)
In addition:
- We are now conducting audio/video interviews. This is in addition to the written interview. Please make sure your WRITTEN interview is submitted BEFORE you schedule the audio/video interview with me AND that I’ve given you a date that your interview will post live on my blog. If you haven’t received a date, please wait as I am scheduling written inteviews 2 months out.
- The audio/video interview will include the same questions as your written interview. If you are interested, schedule an appointment once you know when your written interview will post on my blog. If you haven’t submitted your interview questions to me at info@sylviabrowder.com or if I given you a date of when your interview will be posted, please DO NOT request an audio/video interview. This interview takes 15 minutes max! Please send a quick message requesting the scheduling link.
- To create the video which will be uploaded to YouTube, Please send 5 additional pictures (JPEG) to be included in the video.

My name is Cheryl F. Batoon and I recently published my first fictional novel, “My Four-Cornered Room”. I was laid off in January 2009 from Corporate. After 27 years in Corporate, I decided to cash-out my retirement and write/publish my book which I did. I rediscovered my passion for writing again and started my blog site (see website above). My writings were inspired by Spirit and also Tupac Shakur.
I was inspired to write about the plight of so many people when they spend too much time in their four-cornered rooms or too much time outside of it. It is about how four major characters turn their lives around, rediscover their passions, and meet up with their soul families. It is inspirational and spiritual. I expect my book to be a movie.
