How does a great team SUCCEED?  I enjoy reading various types of books and have found some great comfort in knowing how to encourage team members to push pass FEAR and REACH the desired goal. I have often wondered why certain leaders fair better than others. Simply put….the Leaders realize they are servants and understand how to bring out the best in their people.

The message for T.E.A.M. is Together Everyone Achieves More. If you believe in this model you are well on your way to success! If you desire to become a part of this model, (contact me) LOL.

When you work in corporate America you are joining a group because you claim to be a team player. Often times that vision gets distorted because the leaders decide to become “LONE RANGERS” not understanding they need YOU and your participation to keep it going. Teamwork is not about you!

When a team is being created look for the following things: Creativity-Willingness-Support-Determination-Motivated-Experienced-Unity-Influence-Forward thinker-Go Getter

A Team understands that all of their gifts and skills must work together for progression to take place. Yes, teams do have conflicts, but those conflicts are not to make you give up or fall out. One must decide is this is the TEAM for ME!

A Leader can see the potential in team members which allows them to really unearth things they didn’t even know were there. The four tips below are sometime difficult to attain, however these are necessary actions that will build a great TEAM!

  1. Develop Team Members
  2. Seek Key Members
  3. Change the Leadership
  4. Remove Ineffective Members

Growing a team is demanding and time consuming, but it’s worth it, when all players are shooting for the same goal. It is important to foster support but NOT to ENABLE players; otherwise you will find yourself working double and triple. As a coach, you guide, direct, motivate and discipline but the coach doesn’t TAKE THE SHOT or make the TOUCHDOWN!

Team players must be accountable to the LEADER!

The sooner you understand the importance of joining a SOLID team with a great LEADER…the sooner the entire team reaches the goal while bringing others along. Let’s stop being CRABS in a BUCKET!

A LASTING TEAM will have leaders that:

Leaders who value people-Commit resources to develop team players-place high value on leadership-look for potential leaders-know and respect your team-provide your people with leadership experiences-reward leadership initiatives-create a safe environment where players can share, express, and ask questions, grow with your people, draw people with high potential to your INNER circle-commit yourself to developing a leadership team-unleash your leaders to LEAD!
