The National Association Women on the Rise is extremely honored to salute the many sheroes in the last 100 years who’ve risked their lives to fight for gender equality. Unfortunately, we must continue to fight as many women continue to suffer widespread discrimination and lack political and economic clout.
Today is special for ALL women! International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future regardless of national, ethnic, or social divisions. According to Wikipedia, “this day commemorates the murder of 129 women who were set on fire inside a textile factory in New York in 1908. The discrimination against women brought over one million women and men from the socialist movement onto the streets to march and protest in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland on what was originally called International Working Women’s Day on March 19, 1911.
As we celebrate the history of women yesterday, today and in the future; NAWR is proud to also celebrate, salute and share the stories of 40 amazing women in our network. The stories of women’s achievements are integral to the framework of our history.
To say thank you for being strong leaders, mentors, business women, caretakers, mother, wives, friends and most importantly, spiritually grounded; we are proud to announce “NAWR’s 40 Most Intriguing Women.” Your dedication and contribution to your local communities will be read and admired by thousands through our various social media platforms! Nominate yourself today to be included. Hurry, deadline is March 15, 2011.
