Sylvia: Hi Bianca. I am thrilled to talk to you. Congratulations on being selected as NAWR’s “10 Most Intriguing Women on the Rise.  Tell me about yourself and your business?

Bianca:  Thank you Sylvia. My name is Bianca B. King and I am President of Seven5 Seven3 Marketing Group.  I am a native Texan and I’ve been happily married for almost four years. I hold an MBA in eCommerce Marketing and a BS in Business Administration and am the President/Owner of Seven5 Seven3 Marketing Group.

I started my career in 1998 in commercial real estate and worked my way up through the ranks for over 12 years.  The last position I held was Brokerage Associate and I worked with a team that sold office buildings valued in excess of $1.4 Billion in the Dallas Fort Worth Area.  Although it was a very lucrative career, I wasn’t satisfied and after nine and a half years of working for Cushman & Wakefield, I posted my tenure in March of 2008 and left the only career I ever knew. While on a wonderful cruise with my husband I did some soul searching and the two of us did some brain storming and in May 2008 Seven5 Seven3 Marketing was born.

Seven5 Seven3 Marking Group is a boutique marketing, web and graphic design firm that’s been featured in JET Magazine, One Million Entreprenuers.com, Brand Maker News.com and Working Naked.com.  Our goal is to make small business successful by providing solid guidance in marketing and delivery first-class marketing collateral to allow them to flourish within their given market segment or niche.  Over the last year, the company has grown 247% and we have a current client retention rate of 89%.  We aim to double our growth for 2011 and we are currently on pace to do so.

I am also the founder of Successful Southern Sistas an online community that provides an environment to foster friendship, networking and the support of women entrepreneurs and other small business owners through her blog and on social networks.

Sylvia:  Success is . . .

Bianca: Success is helping others succeed.  My passion is helping and inspiring others to think bigger and do more and through my marketing company and my networking group and I am lucky enough to be able to realize that success on a daily basis.  This is a message I received from a complete stranger on Facebook the other day:

Bianca: I was looking at your fan page and I must say “BRAVO!” Your work and your reputation are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE and INSPIRATIONAL!  You are really blazing a trail and I would love to network with you.  I wish you continued success!!!”  Rayven

Sylvia: Wow, that’s great, Bianca.  The beauty of it is that you… like me, are very humble.  How do you give back to your community?

Bianca:  I’ve given countless hours of free advice to many women business owners who have contacted me looking for solutions for their business. I continue to do this even now as I believe it is important to give advice when possibly.  On my blog, Successful Southern Sistas, I have a segment that I created called Feature Friday where I interview, feature and promote a small business for free every month.  It is so popular that all the spots for 2011 are filled.  Additionally, I’ve worked pro-bono for several non profits, helping them with their marketing efforts.

Sylvia:  How do you create work/life balance?

Bianca: This is something that a lot of women struggle with regardless if they own their business or not.  I am lucky enough to have a very understanding spouse that isn’t bothered if I work at 2 am or on a Sunday.  However, I know that making sure I not only spend quality time with my spouse, but with myself will make me better at all that I do.  I achieve this through setting deadlines for business each day, my virtual whistle blows and then I am just Bianca, wife, sister, aunt, not a business owner.

Sylvia:  What tips can you share with women business owners?

Bianca:  Passion and Drive will only get you so far.  You have to be knowledgeable about the market you’re trying to break into.  What barriers to entry exist, how do you surmount them? Put together solid business and marketing plans BEFORE you start the business. Also do your homework and then do so more.  Be armed with as many tools and resources you can acquire before you start up.  If you’re already in business, always continue learning; do not stagnate because you will be left behind.  Also get a mentor; a mentor will help in so many ways and additionally be a support when you have those difficult and thrilling days while owning your own business.

Sylvia: Thank you for sharing your time and expertise with our members and subscribers. How can we get in touch with you?
