An Interview with Sherria Grubbs: Author, Teacher & Facilitator
Sylvia: Welcome Sherria. So pleased to interview you. Please give our readers an introduction of yourself and a little about your book.

Sherria: Hello Sylvia, thanks for interviewing me. My name is Sherria Grubbs. I am a wife, mother, elementary school teacher, online professor/facilitator, and a poet. The name of my book is “Deep Connections A Book Of Poetry Straight From The Heart.” My book are poems that come straight from my heart.
Sylvia: What inspired you to write your first book?
Sherria: My husband and daughter inspired me to write my first book. They saw a talent in me that I didn’t see in myself.
Sylvia: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Sherria: The message that I want readers to grasp is that they are not alone, that whatever issue you are dealing with or have gone through, someone else has to and they survived it, they got through and so can you. That is the message that I want to convey to the readers.
Sylvia: Do you have any advice for other writers?
Sherria: My advice to other writers would be just to believe in themselves.
Sylvia: What marketing techniques have you used to sell your books and which ones have been most successful?
Sherria: I have used social media, word of mouth, Internet, book signing and book release parties. I found that book release party to be the most successful because people get to see and hear the poems in the book come to life.
Sylvia: Why should we buy your book?
Sherria: You should buy my book because it speaks about many of the things we deal with and go through in life. I’m transparent in the book so I am giving you a lot of me. The words in my book come straight from my heart, and most importantly, what other people want to say but won’t say.
Sylvia: Is there a special place that you prefer when you write?
Sherria: Not really, much of what I write is what or how I feel so it really doesn’t matter where it comes out at, it just has to come out at that time and moment.
Sylvia: What projects are you currently working on?

Sherria: Currently, I am working on something related to the blended family and the struggles within.
Sylvia: What is your POWER WORD? Why this word?
Sherria: I guess I have two power words and those would have to be Deep Connections. I say this because my poems are deep and when you read them you get an instant connection to your emotions and feelings.
