Rhonda: Hi, Sylvia. My name is Rhonda Davis, but I write under my maiden name, Rhonda McAlister. I live in St. Louis, MO.

The name of the book I am introducing today is called Crossover II: Time Has Changed! It is obviously a follow up. The first book is called Crossover: A Tale of Twin Brothers Living in Separate Worlds. The book is about Dominick and Darius who are twin brothers. Their father was murdered when they were very young. They were raised by their mother and even though they are twins brothers, they are very different. You have one brother who wants to make money very fast and the other brother wants to get his education in the first book; and in the second book you see where their roles take a major change.

Sylvia: Sound like a very juicy story. What inspired you to write your first book?

Rhonda: You know Sylvia, I’ve always written poetry, so writing the short story was a new challenge for me. I just really enjoy the storytelling of it all.

Sylvia: Well, I think that is awesome! And yes, storytelling can be so empowering. Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Rhonda: Really the only message in this series is the importance of family. No matter what you’re going through you still need your family. Family may not be perfect, family may not always be relevant, but family is always important.

Sylvia: That’s true about family. Nothing like having them… most of the time. 🙂 Do you have any advice for other writers?

Rhonda: I’m pretty new to being an author. So the only advice I have at this time is to write from your heart.

Sylvia: What marketing techniques have you used to sell your books and which ones have been most successful?

Rhonda: Sylvia with being a new writer, marketing is something that I’m still learning. The most effective marketing that I have had is simply having my books in hand and asking people to purchase one? That’s what I did with my previous book, Confessions of a Welfare Mom. So with these books being e-books I’m in a whole new field, so I’m still actually working on marketingthem. However I have put them on Amazon.com. I have an author page there and I blog as well.

Sylvia: I certainly understand. Why should we buy your book?

Rhonda: You should buy this book because not only is a good story, but it’s entertaining. The first book is not as sassy as the second book. In a second book it gets the little more steamy because you now have relationships that began to form, so sex comes into play. Everybody’s going to love how the plot ends. I’m currently working on part three, and if you love being entertained; if you love fiction; you should get the books!

Sylvia: Is there a special place that you prefer when you write?

Rhonda: For me, I just like a nice peaceful quiet area in my home and with my computer and I just write.

Sylvia: What projects are you currently working on?

Rhonda: As I said I’m currently working on part three of the Crossover series. I am also going to complete my first full novel which is called My Side . I was given the title by my Heavenly Father last year and I have not started writing the book. This book is actually based on true events. I had to give a couple people heads up so they know it is coming out! It is definitely going to be a page turner. One of my strongest testimonies that I have yet to talk about publicly will be in the new book.

Other projects include the development of my business, Rhonda Davis Workshops. Under this business, I conduct workshops such as Success Principles, Believe To Achieve and one for teen moms. I have also began the launch for The High School Entrepreneurship Program where a team of my peers and I will teach entrepreneurial skills to high school seniors! So I’m busy… I’m very busy! Just getting everything on the right track and staying focused.

Sylvia: Well, I commend you for supporting our teens. What is your POWER WORD? Why this word?

Rhonda: Well, my power word is FAITH. My faith is so important that I couldn’t write it all down in this one interview. But without my faith I know that I cannot do anything.

Sylvia: Faith is a powerful word. Rhonda, thank you for sharing your new book and a bit about your life. Please share your social media and book contact information.

Rhonda: Thank you Sylvia for the opportunity, my information is below:
