An Interview with Aditi Chopra: Author, Consultant & Leader
Sylvia: Hi Aditi, it is such a pleasure to interview you. Please give our readers a brief introduction of yourself and a little about your book.
Aditi: Hi Sylvia. I am Aditi Chopra. I am a motivating leader, process consultant and a creative writer. I utilize my experience in software engineering, people management and communication strategies to help create value for organizations.
I am motivated to write so that I can help others succeed by sharing all the learning from my personal experiences. My leadership book titled Ten Mistakes a Manager Should Avoid is written from my experience as a first line manager of software engineering and software operations teams. With this book, my hope is to enable all managers to succeed in their leadership career. I share my thoughts regularly on my leadership blog.
My most current book is Real Estate Investment: No Longer a Dream. Why I wrote this book? Well, the real estate market is full of opportunities and lucrative investment options. There are many questions that a beginner investor has. This ultimate beginner’s guide to real estate investment is designed to answer all those questions. This guide will enable the readers with all the information to succeed. The checklists, resources and rules of thumb in this book will also enhance the reading experience for the readers.
Sylvia: This is very interesting; especially in spite of the economy… that there are still a lot of opportunities in Real Estate. Thank you for highlighting this information. What inspired you to write your leadership book?
Aditi: I was motivated to write so that I could share my knowledge and experience with others. Nothing would give me more satisfaction than to know that I have helped someone succeed.
Sylvia: Is there a message in your book that you want readers to grasp?
Aditi: Yes, I have shared my personal experiences in my book with the hope that others would not make the same mistakes that I made. If I can help someone avoid mistakes that would be very rewarding.
Sylvia: Do you have any advice for other writers?
Aditi: My advice to other writers is to write with passion and purpose. I write with passion and purpose. I am a spiritually inclined person and I write with the goal of helping people succeed. At the same time, I do everything with focus and passion and I find that the outcome undoubtedly is always good. Anything done with passion and purpose is very fulfilling.
Sylvia: What marketing techniques have you used to sell your books and which ones have been most successful?
Aditi: I am very active on all social media sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook etc. I also share my thoughts regularly on my blogs. A combination of these techniques has worked for me. I would say that LinkedIn has been the most effective of all. I find LinkedIn very useful in getting in touch of people and resources. It is a trusted professional network and implicitly validates the professionals that you are.
Sylvia: Why should we buy your book?
Aditi: That is a great question that all readers should ask before purchasing any book. Like I said before, my goal and motivation to write is to help others succeed. I am sharing my practical personal experiences in my book with the hope that others would benefit from it.
Sylvia: Is there a special place that you prefer when you write?
Aditi: I write from my home office. I write when I am inspired and wait for that inspiration to arrive before I start jotting down my thoughts. Inspiration can come at odd moments and I wait for that aha moment.
Sylvia: What is your POWER WORD? Why this word? (A power word is a word that has great effect to the person hearing or reading it. My power word is EMPOWER)
Aditi: My power word is SUCCEED. All my life, I have been driven by only the urge to succeed. The drive to succeed gives me courage to overcome all obstacles.
