I recently received an email from Cara at American Express Open Forum to participate in their Celebrating Women Business Owners,” a four-week series highlighting the achievements of women business owners.  My blog was found through some research conducted for this campaign. They felt that my blog would be a perfect fit to get the message out about how women business owners are having a hand in #PoweringTomorrow.  Hard work does pay off!  So, as a part of ‘joining the conversation’ I was asked to:

Share and/or comment on Twitter, Facebook or your own blog about how you are #PoweringTomorrow in your community and within your business.

So, here’s how I AM PoweringTomorrow:

I am #PoweringTomorrow thru my passion in helping women achieving success thru entrepreneurship.  There’s nothing more gratifying than when I am in a consulting session with a client and she gets that ‘aha’ moment from something that I’ve said or knowing I’ve made a difference.  I am fortunate enough to live my passion and #PoweringTomorrow in four ways:

As Project Director for the Women’s Business Center, Inc., a non-profit organization with a mission to the economic empowerment of women through entrepreneurship.  In this role, I travel to five rural counties in southern Alabama and provide business related workshops and seminars.  I also provide technical assistance to help clients in the preparation of applying for various SBA loan programs. In addition, I provide confidential one-on-one coaching and consulting services.

As CEO of Browder Consulting Group, my private practice, the mission is helping women in business succeed and grow.  My ideal clients are women in the first five years of entrepreneurship. These women have issues that need resolved or seeking funding to take their business to the next level.   In either case, my consulting services include assistance with marketing, access to capital, strategic and business plans and certification services.  I also have an amazing network of professionals that can work with my clients in the area of accounting, human resources and graphic design.

As Founder of National Association of Women on the Rise (NAWR), I’ve built a virtual community for women to support and network.  It has blossomed into a very active and thriving community for aspiring and established women entrepreneurs as well as talented women authors globally.  NAWR’s mission is to provide professional and personal resources while uplifting and empowering women entrepreneurs through collaboration, education, mentoring, spiritual and peer support, leadership and networking.  It is my strongest believe that through the ‘Power in Unity’ victory and success is achieved!

When I launched my first business in 1999, I didn’t have a strong network of women supporters or mentors, nor did I know of resources available. At that time, I was a mother of four young children and running a business was a balancing act without the ‘balance.’ Over the years, I’ve learned the importance of collaboration and connecting with other like-minded women. Today, I advocate living a balanced life.

So, NAWR is proactive in its approach and focus all its initiatives around “five pillars.” These are—

  • Beauty
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Health & Wellness
  • Financial Wealth
  • Spirituality

As Editor of Sylvia Browder’s Blog for Women Entrepreneurs, I provide:

  • Resources and articles in the areas of beauty, entrepreneurship, health & wellness, financial wealth, spirituality and women issues.
  •  Weekly interviews of women authors globally highlighting their new published books. In addition, I provide book reviews for those who request it.
  • Monthly interviews of successful women entrepreneurs who are at the top of their game and willing to share their secrets to success.

So, as you can see, I am #PoweringTomorrow thru my passion and drive to help women create a healthy work and life balance which leads to running successful businesses.
